The Hybrid vehicles I have driven have all recharged themselves while driving using the brakes to recapture energy or by using the gas engine to recharge the batteries while at stop lights or on the highway.

they still use gas, just a whole lot less of it, combining it with battery power to compensate for the loss of power

HOW DO THEY RECHARGE THE BATTERIES WHEN IT IS NEEDED. DO
THEY PLUG THE AUTO LIKE A GOLF CART, IF SO WHAT DO THEY THINK SUPPLIES THE POWER FOR THAT, AND
DON'T THEY THINK THAT WILL REQUIRE SOME TYPE OF FUEL? I CAN
SEE L.A. AT 6:00 P.M ALL THE PLUG INS BROWNOUT.
