Honda’s Clarity Electric Arrives in August, Lease From $269

Honda’s Clarity Electric is arriving in the U.S. in August. And it’s arriving with a big lease deal.

The automaker is only making the Clarity Electric available at select dealerships when the car arrives this August. It’s also only going to be available in California and Oregon. But if you live in either state, and are looking to lease one, then Honda has a deal for you. The introductory lease will be $269/month plus tax.

That’s a 36-month lease with 20,000 miles per year and roadside assistance. The lease payment has federal tax credits built in and requires $1,730 down. California customers may qualify for an additional $2,500 rebate.

The Clarity Electric is a five-passenger sedan, powered by a 161 horsepower electric motor. The model has an EPA range of 89 miles on a full charge, with power coming from a 25.5 kilowatt-hour pack. It comes with Honda’s Honda Sensing standard. The active safety suite comes with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, and more. It’s the second car in Honda’s Clarity line, with the first being the fuel-cell vehicle which went on sale last year and next being the plug-in hybrid version due later this year.
