The Plugin Accord is nothing more than a competition for the Ford Fusion Energi model and to some extent the Toyota Camry.

Another fact that Honda failed to understand is the "most" hybrid buyers rarely care about performance. The perfect example is Prius. People are willing to sacrifice all performance for nothing but MPG...

So, Honda traditionally make "fun" cars. The fun and efficient segment is fairly small, but growing. Maybe people will eventually turn around and see the light.

C-Max Energi and C-Max is the first of such model to directly punch Prius in the performance area without sacrificing too much MPG.

I guess we will see. If Honda can price that plugin version of the Accord correctly, I think it will sell decently. Keep it under $30k (before tax incentives) and it will sell just fine.

Honda has no real interest in selling Hybrid or Plugin.

Everyone knows that the best selling Hybrids are those that are of Wagon design with lot of interior space.

The best selling hybrid sedan rarely exceeds 4,000 units / month. Reason is it loses 1/4 of the trunk space.

Now the Plugin which may have 5 - 6K premium and 1/2 the trunk space, how many units is it going to sell.

Rather they can sell a plugin version of Fit or Freed (sold in Japan).

I do hope the battery capacity is north of 8 Kwh, and the motor(s) power is north of 90 kw or else Honda will have another dud on its hands. They need to get the zero to 60 time under 9 seconds.
