This car is really cool. This is the first site I've seen one of these on. I was doing a search for one of those 3 wheel 2 seater scooters that are street legal and stumble upon this site. Very cool. We need more eco friendly vehilces getting built.

We started vehicles using eletricity, why can't we end with electric cars too? I guess we all know why that hasn't happened already

I have always been awestruck by the technology that went into the Segway. I have driven them and they are a true mechanical marvel. I think that the steps that GM is taking needs to mirror the mission and mantra that Apple and Steve Jobs engages in.

This venture, while not the savior or answer to the companies woes, is a positive first step that GM is thinking in teh right direction...and in a mobile, instant, early adopter mentality that is today's young consumer, this new mission could exponentially lengthen GM's lifespan for generations to come....

I'll agree that it is cool technology but I can't see wheeling that thing around busy city streets either. Energy is being wasted with the gyrosope system keeping it balanced. With 2 people on board more energy would be needed just to keep it balanced. It may be safer than a bicycle or motorcycle but I'd hate to get sandwiched between 2 larger vehicles in an accident.

I can't see how this could in normal streets city traffic. Doesn't the segway require a large amount of power just to stay balanced? Now image this thing in real world traffic, not no cars on the street fantasy land. If you get stuck in crawling traffic for a hour you will have a dead battery. And if you drop it down on to its other wheels every time traffic stops and starts you will have a very jerky and uncomfortable commute. If you look close it takes quite a bit of coordination to get this from resting position to balance position, imagine doing that every block or more.

Any vehicle like this needs at least three wheels on the road most of the time. The two wheel balance feature is only a gimmick that will be useful occasionally, it will be annoying most of the time. It needs deployable training wheels or a retractable third wheel. Of course those modifications will make more expensive.

That is pretty awesome. If cities allow it to be parked in motorcycle parking lots or between cars or other spots on the curb where another car won't fit, I'd totally get one. It's like a Vespa with protection from the weather and an area to actually put stuff that takes up more room than a laptop. And you don't have to go through the hassle of getting a motorcycle license. I'm on board if SF is.

If its going to need its own roads it going to be long time to see it in the US. We can't even build bicycle lanes.

It would seem prudent to develop the vehicles speed to perform on city streets. Other wise all the other bells and whistles may be 20 years off.
