The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is the first luxury SUV available in Extra Large. All the amenities you could expect from a Cadillac; all the capacity to carry eight passengers; and half the fuel consumption. Expected in late 2008, the Escalade Hybrid will post fuel economy of 18 city/22 highway, as opposed to the gas version’s 12 city/18 highway. It remains to be seen if the hybrid badge, which has come to symbolize environmental awareness, will add to—or undermine—the Cadillac Escalade’s persona. GM’s is using “intelligent indulgence” as its marketing slogan for the blend of Cadillac comfort and hybrid worldliness.
