Clean Diesel 101

One of the pioneers in the development in clean diesel technology is 
Robert Bosch LLC, a leading global auto supplier. Bosch’s system 
utilizes a common rail direct-injection engine and after-treatment 
devices such as a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) converter, 
particulate filter, and a lean NOx trap. The SCR system uses an 
odorless liquid called urea to reduce NOx emissions. Drivers will 
have to replenish the supply of urea approximately every 10,000 miles.
