In 2004, General Motors introduced mild hybrid versions of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks—that produced a 10-15 percent increase in fuel economy. The two-mode Chevy Silverado hybrid pickup is scheduled to launch in late 2008.
