I would guess the Titanium model would be comparable to the Toyota Avalon Hybrid. Lots of the features mentioned are found on Avalons.

So the base competes with the Camry Hybrid.

The Titanium version competes, at least in options, with the much larger Avalon.

And of course the Energi competes with the Prius PHV and Chevy Volt.

Time will tell, but Ford might win all three competitions.

Max Reid – order the Fusion Hybrid SE then, base is 27,200. Add the options to the SE that comes on the Titanium and it will be more than 32,995.

Lot of options for little extra price, but why not they remove most of those options and sell at a lower price where the buyer could quickly get the ROI compared to regular fusion.

But Fusion has lot of options like
Mild
Full
Plugin
which is not available in any other sedan. Fusion goes on sale in mid-october I believe. We can expect its full sales in November.

What about the Lincoln MKX hybrid ? I bought a 2011 and get 37.2 mpg average after 14,000 miles.

Are most of those so called "platinium edition" options standard on the Energi version?

If NOT, then it will be a harder sell against the Volt. My Volt with $41k has most of those Platinium options already except for the 10 way power seat. That is before the tax incentives... With tax incentives included, it is only $32k. Very comparable to the Fusion Hybrid Platinium edition.
