VW Twin Drive concept

VW has another diesel hybrid concept in the works, only this time a test fleet is being done with the German government. It's also a plug-in. Here are a couple of articles:

It looks like VW may actually put this diesel hybrid into production with the next Golf (MkVII ) due in 2012:

Cool. That's what we need: A diesel hybrid actually in production. Hopefully, it will be a plug-in and actually be able to run for real in electric mode like the Volt and not as an add-on like all of today's hybrids.
