tax return forms involved? 8910, 8834?

hello, i'm trying to figure out how much i get back for my 2006 mercury mariner hybrid suv...
this is my first job outta grad school, so i was dependent for 7 months last year...
just wondering what are some forms yall filled out besides 1040, at the moment, i'm doing 8910, 8834...
however, the form is a bit confusing to me...
can someone give me a walk-through?
i'm single, no kids, the max credit is 1950 for the hybrid...
