Steering Issue

I have a 08 FEH that I love and have never had an issue for the past 1.5 year that I have had it. In the last 2 weeks, the steering has gone out completly while I was turning. The first time it happened, FORD replaced something with he steering. It happened again less than a week later and it has been with the dealer since then. It froze up for 4 or 5 seconds..long enough to have a really bad accident. According to FORD, they have never had this happen...Has anyone out there ever had this problem?
