So...why do some people "Trash Talk" hybrids?

Just an observation thread,

Why do some people hate hybrids? Some refer to them as toys, others keep this claim about batteries failing, some puch the poor mileage, this...that...

I've been in a few arguments with these "Hybrid Haters," and I don't know where they get their bias from...
