    New 2008 EPA MPG ratings for the Honda Civic Hybrid

    http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/calcu...Civic%20Hybrid

    40 for the city and 45 for the highway....that sound a bit more accurate then 49/51.

    Do you think sales will drop for hybrids now that they are putting the actual MPG on the cars? Would you have still bought your civic if you would have known it was really 40/45 and not 49/51?

    It's still about 40% more efficient than a regular Civic, which comes in at 29MPG.

    I don't know of any other car which driving habits effect MPG so much.
    If the car is rated 45 for highway, then I must be doing pretty good this winter to average about 63.

    My son has left us with his

    My son has left us with his civic hybrid 08', it has been a great car except for the 3 things it does. It clucks/chunks or what ever you call it when the brake is released and the heater is on. At times when the car is slowing down and then you accelerate it feels like you are running out of gas/ surging like, very weird. HELP!?!?!?!

    thanks RAY

    Hi RayM;

    Did your son report those behaviors, or is that something you noticed?

    May the following link can give you a starting point:
