    hey rkr, I am in NM also.

    hey rkr, I am in NM also. Live at 6500 and work at 5200. I try to choose my route to make the climb as gradual as possible. The last mile though I climb 700 feet which drains the battery completely.

    I usually try to be gradual when driving up the hills, but they are so long that I usually drain the battery completely way before the end.

    I just keep right and think about how much better my mileage is than the car going 15 over the speed limit is. Unless it's a Prius, but I bet the Prius speeders don't get better mpg than I do.
