Q: When will ALL of a car's non-headlight lights be LEDs?
I saw a Chevy Volt about a month ago in a Home Depot parking lot and the first thing I did was look to see if its exterior turn signal lights were LEDs -- they weren't. I forgot to ck to see if the little lights that light up the rear license plate were LEDs.
I also cked the latest Prius and it still uses incandescent lights too.
Frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of "stupid" car lights (inefficient, vibration sensitive and prone to burn out incandescents). I wonder how many accidents are caused by turn signal lights or brake lights that are burnt out? How many batteries drain keeping people from being able to start their cars because of a "stupid" interior light left on by mistake? Plus, you can get pulled over and even ticketed for having some lights out. Yet the "state of the art" Volt still uses these "stupid lights"??? When will this end? When will ALL lights -- interior & exterior -- finally be replaced by long-lasting, energy efficient LEDs? (headlights might be an exception)
