Stick Shift Saves On Gas Right?

Driving a stick shift supposedly saves on gas, right?
Provided the driver drives without any engine abuse.

I drive a stick shift Toyota Corolla 2008, sports edition

I tried driving 'normal' and 'different'

'different' is when you drive at speed limits, keep the car in neutral when at higher speeds (easily done with stick shift cars) and do not rev up the engine too much in between gears.

I saved close to 15% on a full tank of gas!

Thanks for the tip. I heard this once before but you just confirmed it for me! saving 15% of gas is a no brainer.

    How stick shifts save gas

I think there are two major ways that stick shifts save gas:
    1. The car weighs less because there\'s no automatic transmission system
    2. If you know how to use it correctly, you\'ll shift exactly when you need to - but an automatic system can\'t account for the road ahead so sometimes shifts unnecessarily or just before you\'re going to accelerate, etc

I stayed on crutches for 2 months and then walked with crutches for another 3 weeks after that.
Hi, I\'ve had shortness of breath for about one month now. I don\'t have the lump in the throat feeling, but I do have reflux. But this is the first time I\'ve had shortness of breath like this. And yes, mine seems to be with me 24/7. I\'ve been taking Pepcidine tablets the whole time and it\'s made NO difference, whereas other times it has worked within days to settle things down.
My husband has recently been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, so I have been reading on the Kidney Forum.

That\'s just it. My son has been in two different programs. We\'ve been doing this for the last 5 years. At one time Dom had two BSC\'s, two TSS\'s, and two psychologists. As a matter of fact we\'re apart of the wrap around services. And in working on his situation I haven\'t seen much good come out of it. I will admit he\'s a little better. But it\'s still very challenging. Anything I try to do with Dom instead of it being fun. It ends up being nothing but a hassel. But that\'s why I feel the way I do. It may have only been 7 yrs. But it\'s been a long 7 yrs. Dom was born with autism. For the first two years of his life I didn\'t have services. For the first two years as a single mom. I had to try and convince doctors that something was different with Dom. While trying to maintain two jobs with no child support or any help. I will admit the only thing that\'s been really helpful is the financial support. Other than that everything else seems impossible. I\'m just hoping that the organization that I\'m with really starts showing me something. And I know that there\'s other organizations out there. But Dom\'s been bounced around with the two agencies that he was with. He\'s had 5 different therapist\'s and 4 different BSC\'s. That\'s why I don\'t want to switch agencies again. Because I\'m afraid that the same thing will happen if I switch. Because my kid is a very challenging kid. His attitude to me is. He doesn\'t see the need to learn anything. I don\'t want to undo all the work I\'ve done. Because then everything I went through would have been for nothing. I\'m trying to have faith but it\'s sooo hard sometimes.
If you are older than age 65, or have serious liver or kidney problems, your doctor may start you at the lowest dose (25 mg) of VIAGRA. If you are taking protease inhibitors, such as for the treatment of HIV, your doctor may recommend a 25 mg dose and may limit you to a maximum single dose of 25 mg of VIAGRA in a 48-hour period.

Also, she can take a breath and then exhale thru the nose very slowly off and on.
"being sociable" and so on, it applies to everything. That\'s what chronic pain does to you.
It happened that I gained that weight after starting to take Lexapro so I thought all of the weight gain was because of that. Well, after finding this board I realize that I may no be as crazy as I was beginning to feel that I am.
My internist mentioned maybe having a nuclear scan done to see if my gallbladder is diseased. I don\'t know where to go from here. I\'m so scared, frustrated, mad, you name it. I feel guilty because as a mom my kids are always seeing me either in pain or having to lay down because I don\'t feel good. This is interfering with my work too. I only work two days a week but have missed at least 3 days in the last month because of this. Nothing that I do or eat triggers these flare-ups. I DO have stress but no specific events to trigger a flare-up happen the night or day before. I don\'t think the Effexor is working (even though the gastro doc acts like it\'s a magic pill) and I really don\'t want to stay on it because I\'d like to LOSE weight (I still have about 30 pounds to lose from my pregnancies) and anti-depressants are known to make you GAIN. I\'m new to this and don\'t really know much about IBS. I don\'t want to sound stupid but can something that doesn\'t show up on any tests and causes no physical damage be the cause of this much AGONY? I am so depressed and I\'m sorry this was SO long but I wanted to get my entire history out there because maybe someone will relate or can tell me where to go or what to ask my doctor next. Thanks SO much! Jessica
