Recent Subaru/Fuji Heavy Industries News

For those of you who have a Subaru Impreza WRX or other Subaru, and enjoy these cars but don't want to give up the great performance for fuel economy of a hybrid, Fuji Heavy Industries of Japan released a Press Release back on August 18th, 2005.
In summary, it talks about two revolutionary technologies: one is about Lithium-Ion Capacitance and such; the other is more interesting.
The interesting part is about something FHI calls Turbo Parallel Hybrid. Basically speaking, it's a hybrid powertrain with turbocharging. I haven't really read the press release, but here is the link:

IMO, FHI/Subaru is releasing a bunch for experimental purposes in 2007, more or less a wait-and-see proposition. No way to take a side this early in the development process, even though the thought reeks of "MUSCLE HYBRID"!
