Interfacing specialist equipment from battery
I am working on a college engineering project relating to interfacing RF equipment to new generation public safety vehicles.
Traditionally our equipment draws power from a 12V vehicle battery, we wire directly onto the battery and take a digital input to the killswitch to act as a power on/off with the vehicle ignition.
Does anyone have any documents, references or other information on how you can power professional equipment in hybrid vehicles?
I've been looking at DC to DC converters converting high voltage DC from a hybrid battery to around 12V DC but need to know what effect doing this is going to have on the operation of the vehicle.
