No average mpg on base model HiHy
Created September 4, 2007, at 11:34 pm by kea
How many people are annoyed by the lack of an average fuel consumption readout on the base model (non-limited) HiHy? I own a 2006 AWD HiHy and a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid. It's a *lot* easier to track usage on a trip-by-trip basis (on the HCH) than on a tank-by-tank basis (on the HiHy).
I agree with many posters that the fuel consumption is dissappointing on the HiHy but otherwise the vehicle is great.

no average MPG? Not true.
I have a 2006 HH non-limited. The non-limited AND the limited version has a 1x2.5-inch display below the speedometer. The pushbutton to the right of that display, cycles the display through several modes, including two trip MPGs.
To reset a trip MPG requires, I think, holding the pushbutton down while the MPG is displayed. The exact procedure is in the manual.
On the display you mention I have: current (instantaneous) MPG, 2 trip meters, odometer, outside temp, and the engine / battery / motor / wheels flowchart.
The two trip meters only give you miles, not MPG over the trip period.
Were there different versions of this vehicle?
I have base 4wd-i model. Mine too does not have AVG MPG.
I did a quick research and it seems that earlier 2006 models did not have avg mpg. :(
Does anyone know if this is a software upgrade issue and is quick to update or if it is not worth taking the car to the dealership?
thank you.
