MP3 ,iPOD

can anyone tell me how to hook up an iPOD to a 2007 hybrid highlander? It has the nav system. I have tried this before and the shop told me that i could have the choice of my CD player or an external ipod jack but not both.
any suggestions?

I have a 2006 HH and used something like this http://www.icarkits.com/advanced_search_result.php?vehicle=25%7C153%7C20...
it uses a loop in the CD changer to add an I-pod, XM etc
