How Come They Don't Make The Versa A Hybrid?

How come they don't make a hybrid version of the Versa?

I had one last year, and I totaled it this spring :(

I was getting 40mi/gallon - it was a stick shift

I wonder why they don't make this into a hybrid or at least as an option, to increase the economy even more
