Ford Escape Hybrid production begins Monday

August 2, 2004 is Job 1 for the Escape Hybrid in Kansas City. The first months production is already scheduled, so dealers in the 15 states can see what they have coming for September and early October delivery.

Wish Georgia was on the list! :(

Ford is scheduling November production now. Still no word on when they will open up orders for the remaining 35 states. I did hear today from my dealer that the Nav system is a "Medium Risk" commodity - which means the orders for Escape Hybrids with Nav may be pushed back a bit until supply of the systems can catch up to the production demand. The Nav orders must be coming in much faster than they anticipated. (Early adopters want all the toys!)
