Elevation Information from 2009 Nav System?

Does anyone know how to get current elevation (altitude) information from the Nav system? My previous Garmin portable Nav system would show the elevation if you looked at the current satellite info, but I have been unable to find any page in the Nav system that will display it. Has anyone found a way to access altitude info. I know it's available from GPS but Ford may not have anyway to access it.

I have not found the elevation on any of the available screens on my 09 MMH nav.

I do know that Garmin units with maps that are one year old or newer are much more reliable in every way for navigation and POIs.
