California HOV legislation

Just heard on the news tonight that the approval has been "delayed."

It seems that the California powers-that-be had to wait until the Feds approve it. The newscaster said that the feeling is it may never happen on the federal level, so the sticker wouldn't work for federal highways.

Arrgh!

saw the news (though those of us in Hybrid Escapes and Accords, and maybe even Civics, aren't affected due to the 45 mpg cutoff).

interesting to note that the state of Virginia ignores federal law and lets hybrids travel in the HOV lane. I am not sure if they have a cutoff.
