Buying Camry Hybrid?

My mother wants to buy a new Toyota Camry and I suggested that she buy the Hybrid version. We went to a Toyota dealer in Staten Island but they don't have any Camry Hybrids in stock. We saw a Toyota Prius in the showroom but the transmission lever in that car doesn't work the same way an automatic transmission lever works. Is the transmission lever in the Camry Hybrid different from regular Camry's lever? Should my mother buy Camry Hybrid or regular Camry? She usually drives to stores, doctors, etc.

I love my Camry Hybrid. I have not driven a non-hybrid version, so I can't speak to if the lever is the same, but it seems normal to me.
