Brake job

I normally do my own brake jobs, but with a Prius that may change.
With the regenerative braking, that may make it complicated.
Any techs out there that can advise on the this? So is a brake job on a Prius any different than any other car?

You will find your prius brake system very basic and easy to
work on. Prius brakes last much longer due to the regeneration
system slowing the car on decel.

I have over 200,000 miles on my 2005 Prus, and still have the original brakes on it. Tires go 40,000 to 50,000 miles, but need to be rotated at least every 7,000 yo 8,000 miles.

Regenerative braking occurs in the "engine" (actually the electric drive motor is run as a generator to recharge the main battery).

The Prius has a standard set of drums/pads/disks/ect.

But if you are driving conservatively, you are NOT using the mechanical brakes until you are down to around 10mph (14kph). So your brake pads should last over 100,000 miles.
