About Highlander Hybrid Parts ?

Hi,
I need some help please.
I want to buy highlander 2008
But a lot of people warn me that
This car have an electronic piece (with IC's)
Which damage when driving from sea level
Where I work to mountain where I am living
and it is very expensive.
Is this true ???

another thing please

if any part of highlander damage or need to replacement could i use parts from LEXUS or TOYOTA PARADO
