2010 Prius Handfree system
Created September 2, 2009, at 11:41 pm by sbrager
I was delighted to get the 2010 Prius' handsfree system for making phone calls. After setting everything up, I discovered several distressing problems.
1) In order to be understood, I had to speak loudly and very clearly.
2) Each word in a phrase (Call by name, etc.) must be separated by a brief silence.
3) I could hear the people I called clearly, but they couldn't hear me well. Must thought the sound was muddy. This occurred even if the car wasn't moving and both the fan & A/C were off.
Has anyone else had these problems (especially 3)? If so, how was it resolved?
Thanks;
Stan

I have a 2009.
I've never been able to voice activate dial anything.
I do have to quasi-shout at the mic. Or at least make sure my mouth is pointed at the mic. Remember, it's near the front dome light. If I'm not talking at the mic, they do have more trouble understanding me.
I should clarify, I've never tried to voice activate dial with the prius because I've never been able to voice activate dial any kind of phone.
