2002 prius computer message

Has anyone heard of a Prius, with the following condition; all warning come on, main screen has a hugh no symbol and message says take to dealer, immediately!
The car was parked in below freezing weather, and the car still started and ran.
My friend took the car to a Toyota dealer in Canada after calling the dealer, and explaining the problem the dealer said don't worry drive it in.
My friend did and the dealer came back after connecting to his computer dignostics, with a print out, the message said "computer reset" and the dealer charged $147.00
My friend bought this car from me. I own a 2006 which is new.
please let me know if you have heard of this.:mad:
