05 to 07 were there any changes in Software, Programming?

Created April 10, 2008, at 2:19 pm by ranger1

I've read that tho the 'hardware' is the same, the 08 supposedly gets better economy and has a smoother electric to gas operation, oh and possibly can run to a faster speed on electric due to programming/computer software changes.

I was just wondering, does anyone know if there were any changes to programming from 05's to 07's?

I do know the hybrid battery recall that many of us experienced last fall, did involve an updated hybrid battery software in which the transistion between electric mode and internal combustion mode was smoothed out. This software fix was the same for the 2005 thru 2007 models.

As different software between the 2005 verse the 2006 and 2007 vehicles, I don't know.

There was a software change like you read for the '08, but there is no higher speed change in EV. I've driven the '08 and confirmed the changes I've read also. I think the changes are better for the average drivers that doesn't use the techniques I use to go EV as much as possible. There may have been some fuel cut changes when letting off the gas pedal like Toyota has been doing, but I didn't see it in the little I drove the '08.
