Ford Escape Hybrid

The new Ford Escape Hybrid’s outer shell was been revamped for 2008, taking on an even stronger and bolder appearance than the original—but not much was changed for 2009. Its new skin from 2008 still adheres more to the Ford Tough look that is found on the brand’s truck line. The beltline was been dramatically raised to better balance the profile’s proportion of sheet metal to glass. Some reviewers dislike the "big ugly grille."

In 2008, the hood was raised and revised. It continued to feature a unique “reverse crease” design that draws the eye to the power center of the vehicle—a deliberate and crafty design method intended on putting emphasis on performance. The new front fascia has headlamps that sweep up toward the front corners, and flank a newly-designed grille—which has received criticism for being oversized and ugly.

The Escape Hybrid features blacked-out B-pillars, available 17-inch wheels (16-inch alloys come standard), a roof rack, and integrated running boards.
