Some of the most desirable ultimate cars on the planet are now hybrids, and not least among these is the LaFerrari which will get two variant stable mates.
The basic seven-figure priced LaFerrari, if it can be called that, nets around 950-horsepower, but its Italian maker will bring out a 1,050-horsepower track-only FXX version, and a Spider type convertible for 2015.
Keeping their desirability up, the production run for these two is to be just 30 units of the FXX, and 50 Spider examples.
The extra 100 horsepower to the track special FXX is reportedly coming from a combinaton of tuning to the V12, and tweaking engine electronic controls to the piston engine and hybrid system.
The Spider will see improvements here and there, but apparently not in the already potent powertrain. This Spider could also see a doubling of the price to $2.8 million.
