EBay Motors has a car in its “Garage” that it wants to give away this spring: an 85-kwh 2014 Tesla Model S.
The $102,000 all-electric car is the grand prize in a drawing the online seller has going through May 16, and one person will get it when a third party judging organization picks the winner on or around May 27.
Obviously eBay hopes you may do some shopping while there, but the contest does not require any purchases, and there are three ways to enter.
1) Create a new profile on eBay Garage via desktop or mobile during the promotion to receive an entry in the Sweepstakes.
2) Upload a new vehicle Photograph to your new profile(s) on eBay Garage via desktop or mobile. (See “details” linked below.)
3) By U. S. mail, you can hand print your name, address, city, state, ZIP code, eBay User ID, date of birth, email address (optional) and daytime telephone number on a 3” X 5” card, and mail it. It must be postmarked by May 16, and received by no later than May 23. (See “details” linked below.)
Other qualifiers are the recipient must have a valid drivers license in the state in which the car is won. People in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia are eligible, but the territory of Puerto Rico is not.
Once eBay picks a winner, he/she will be notified and must reply within seven days, or risk forfeiting the car to someone else.
Also, customary contest requirements for the winner are in place.
“Potential Grand Prize winner will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility/liability release and where legal, a publicity release, and Federal and State tax release,” says eBay.
The drawing is also offering 10 “first prize” winners a $100 gift cards to eBay, but the Model S is the is the grand prize literally worth 1000-times more.
As for the odds of winning, eBay says that depends entirely upon how many entrants it gets.
