The Chevy Tahoe Hybrid has a base sticker price of $50,490. It is anywhere from $4,000 to $15,000 more expensive than the various gas-powered models. Though it has a 25 percent improvement in overall fuel economy, and a 40 percent improvement in city economy, this premium in price is quite significant. Weigh that against the fuel savings. The two-wheel drive model has an EPA rating of 21 city/22 highway, compared to the gas version’s 14 city/19 highway.

Though the Tahoe Hybrid is not as efficient as most smaller cars (hybrid or non-hybrid), it is currently the greenest choice for those in genuine need of a large SUV.

The IRS has not yet published the federal tax credit for the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid. Once determined, this information will help define this vehicle’s overall affordability.
