Nice article. I have bought Tata Nano. Till one year there is no problems in Nano. But after, there is problems in gear. Gear not working properly then i go to nearest center in of Tata motors. I have after investigation I have been told that entire Gear Box will be replaced under warranty. After 2 week again new problems occurred. I was unable to lock rear gate of Nano car, the lock was not working.

Japan has been selling such small cars for many years. Now India is joining, soon China, France and other countries will join.

For many conjested cities, such small vehicles will do. We dont need trucks to buy tomatoes from grocery stores.

No wonder, sales of SUV's and Pickups have declined drastically in USA.

To reply to that article about Chinese cars, is that they will be cheaply made and have problems. The Chineses make knock off’s for every product on the planet, but the quality is very poor.

This article is a dismal attempt to bring down the rise of India and its auto industry.

Right now, the entire global landscape of the auto industry is putting up a mighty battle as it's been embittered with economics, competition, environmental , climate change and consumer indifference to sales. This is all supposed to change in a year or two.

The Big 3, the Japanese and the Germans are all scrambling with poor sales and cookie cutter products while triumphing "green" visions for the future. The TATAs are the only one making headway after pioneering a fresh market in the auto industry. There have been various sales and re-sales and shufflling of brands amongst Ford, Chrysler and other companies. The 3 Nano car fires were nothing compared to the 14 million cars recall of a fault switch by Ford. India looks to be the hot bed of the the new revitalized auto industry, thanks to the TATA Nano.
