Carsharing company car2go will be launching in Denver on June 8.
Denver will be the tenth North American city added to car2go’s roster.
car2go will introduce a network of 300 car2go edition smart fortwo vehicles that will be available for shared use in the metropolitan Denver area, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Registration for membership opened yesterday, May 29, at denver.car2go.com.
For each city car2go enters, a designated Home Area, indicating where car2go service is available, is established which encompasses the major attractions and neighborhoods for that market.
The Denver Home Area stretches north from Interstate 70 to E Yale Avenue and west from Sheridan Blvd to Quebec Street covering an area of 42 square miles.
This Home Area includes popular neighborhoods such as the Highlands and Capitol Hill, the University of Denver and easy access to local sites such as the Botanic Gardens, Coors Field, and the Museum of Nature and Science.
“Denver is thrilled to welcome car2go and point-to-point carsharing to Denver,” Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock said. “Walk, bike or ride, Denver is becoming a more multi-modal city every day.
