I want a Battery Range Extender Module (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A123 ) where I can replace discharged battery in the spare tire well by a recharged one in a filling-station, supermarket, electric utility facility or ad-hoc shop. This is, replace discharged batteries, instead of recharge them (this is a time consuming activity).
Regards

I think converting a 2007 Camry Hybrid with a 20 KWH high power Nanosafe battery
would open some eyes. Perhaps you would have to buy a Phoenix Motors SUT to obtain the battery and "electric mode only" controllers, but the conversion would put what everyone wants on the street - a vehicle that does not depend on foreign oil for short daily trips of less than 40 miles, yet looks great and has acceptable performance in electric mode only due to fully utilizing the 105 KW motor. It would be the first true PHEV that cuts gasoline consumption by 60% due to operation in electric only mode for short trips.
