I liked the information here.Its true the U.S. Army has come under criticism in recent years for the amount of oil it consumes.But also, don’t forget that the primary goals in the military are reliability and the requirement that all vehicles run on the same fuel.

Just a slight correction AP. “…6,444 soldier trips is eliminated”. So, not necessarily 6000+ soldiers but certainly a few hundred to as many as 1000 I am guessing.

Here's an idea. How about we criticize the politicians in the gov't for sending the U.S. Army overseas to fight wars the politicians started? That's your problem right there.

The major advantage here isn't reducing the nation's usage of oil, so much as reducing the size of the supply line for the battle groups. Reducing 6,444 soldiers for every 1% increase in overall efficiency is a great motivation.

But also, don't forget that the primary goals in the military are reliability and the requirement that all vehicles run on the same fuel (no accidental wrong-fueling). If it's efficient, but complex and breaks down, it defeats the purpose (and us).
