Very interesting. On May 9, 2012, http://www.hybridcars.com published an article about a couple achieving the world-record distance on one tank of fuel in a U.S-spec VW Passat TDI with a 6-speed manual, travelling 1,626.1 miles on a tank of diesel, for an average of 84.1 MPG overall! This Mondeo got 84.098 MPG equivalent, travelling a total of 1,576 miles. Interesting, isn’t it?

But Wilthil and Borchegrevink managed an impressive 886.9 kilometers (551 miles) more on their tour through Northern Europe. As Wilthil and Borchegrevink approached the destination of their nearly two-day tour, the experts in saving fuel shared one of their driving tactics: “While driving, you should always make sure that there is enough space between you and the car in front.”

Just a small note that Helsingfors is the same as Helsinki. Helsingfors is the what Helsinki is called in Swedish, which is the official second-language of Finland, where many people are of Swedish descent.
