In my opinion, c-max is the clear winner. I just traded my 2010 Prius4 for a C-max SEL. What a difference!!! Better acceleration and passing power; quality leather and appointments; much better ride and comfort; first tank of gas averaged approximately 50 MPG;rechecking that, and Made in the USA!! Only had it for 4 weeks so all could change, but for now, a really great car.

The Dart and the non-hybrid version of the Ford Fusion? Are the judges even trying anymore? Seriously either of these cars winning the “Green Car of the Year” award would strip away any and all credibility from the Green Journal. They might as well say they like being a joke.

CharlesF is correct, Dodge Dart should not be in the list.

C-Max is more than a car as it uses height factor to maximize the interior volume and it should come closer to CX-5 or similar CUV. Yet it offers 47 MPG with its Hybrid.

There should be similar category for Plugin as well in which C-Max Plugin should be placed.

Maybe this year they will pick a car you can buy.

The C-Max, Fusion and Prius C all offer best in class MPGs. The Prius C brings great fuel economy to the masses. The C-Max and Fusion bring 47 MPGs to cars that are almost fun to drive and are affordable, something that has not been done before. The Fusion and C-Max will also be bringing plug in technology to an average priced car (after tax credit).

The Mazda does offer great non-hybrid MPGs for its size (city of 26 beats most competitors by 3 MPG), but overall I do not see it as Green Car of the Year.

The Dodge Dart should not even be in the race. The EPA lists it at 32 MPG overall, but the best MPG Civic, Focus and Cruze all get 33 MPG overall. If a car is not best in class, it should not be in the running.
